I want to learn how to draw portraits so I bought this book for beginners on learning to draw. It starts off by showing you how to draw a rose. I like that the book starts off with such a simple exercise because a book that begins with complex exercises would have made me feel like my goal of learning to draw was too difficult for me, more than I could handle, and perhaps even unachievable. The chapters do become slightly more complex and more challenging as the book progresses but if I study the book as intensely as I am supposed to and practice consistently, then I am sure by the end of it I would have achieved my goal. I thought that it would be a really handy skill to have. I could put up an advertisement that I sketch people’s portraits at a small fee, and turn a small profit. The Tamron 10-24 is simply a lens with very good center sharpness. This is less so in the borders because I found the border results on this lens to be soft. This is a lightweight lens that can be had for a pretty cheap price. For the price, you simply cannot get a better deal. However, this lens is prone to flare in addition to its soft borders. It does not have the fastest autofocus in the world although Tamron claims to have updated their mechanism. The non constant aperture is a bit of a turn off on this lens and the distortion on this lens is simply very bad. With that all being said, I still think that this lens is one of the best ultra wide angle zoom lens options that is available for cropped sensor DSLR camera. This lens is very appropriate if you are on a tight budget.
